DESIIGNER EXPLAINS MEANING BEHIND ‘TIMMY TURNER’

May the real Timmy Turner please stand up! If you’re
not familiar to that new Desiigner “Timmy Turner,” you
just aren’t living!
Since he released his freestyle after being listed as a
part of XXL Magazine 2016 Freshman Class, “Timmy
Turner” has become a thing.
The freestyle, turned single, simply just said, “Timmy
Timmy Timmy Turner, he be wishing for a burner. Kill
everybody walkin; he know that his soul in the furnace.
Fine b*tch on BET hottie wildin, she f***ing on BET.”
Why Timmy Turner, Desiigner? We’re asking for a
friend!
As it turns out, he is Timmy Turner.
In an interview with All Def Digital, Desiigner said,
“Timmy Turner is me. I was referring to myself when I
was saying I ‘was wishin’ for a burner.’ And when I said
‘she fuckin’ for BET,’ I was referring to a girl that, you
know, would do anything for the fame.”
Was anyone else here concerned when he said he
knows his soul was in the furnace?! There’s an
explanation for that too!
“…because if I know that I wish for the burner, and she
knows that she would do anything for the fame, you
know you go to hell.”
So there you have it! Desiigner is Timmy Turner and he
was wishing for a gun and a fame-driven Bonnie.
Interesting.

Blessings. Mother Teresa declared saint by Pope Francis at Vatican.

Mother Teresa, revered for her work with the poor in
India, has been proclaimed a saint by Pope Francis in
a ceremony at the Vatican.
Francis said St Teresa had defended the unborn, sick
and abandoned, and had shamed world leaders for the
"crimes of poverty they themselves created".
Tens of thousands of pilgrims attended the
canonisation in St Peter's Square.
Two miraculous cures of the sick after Mother Teresa's
death in 1997 have been attributed to her intercession.
In India, a special Mass was celebrated at the
Missionaries of Charity, the order she founded in
Kolkata (Calcutta).
An hour with the Saint of the Slums
What happened to the critics?
How to become a saint
Cardinal Angelo Amato read a brief biography of Mother
Teresa's work, then asked the Pope to canonise her in
the name of the Church.
Pope Francis responded: "We declare and define
Blessed Teresa of Calcutta to be a saint and we enrol
her among the saints, decreeing that she is to be
venerated as such by the whole Church."
The Pope said Mother Teresa had spent her life
"bowing down before those who were spent, left to die
on the side of the road, seeing in them their God-given
dignity".
He added: "She made her voice heard before the
powers of the world, so that they might recognise their
guilt for the crimes of poverty they themselves
created." He then repeated: "The crimes of poverty
they themselves created.". *copied bbc*

Church of England welcomes first open gay bishop.

A British bishop has become the first in the Church of
England — the mother church of the worldwide
Anglican faith — to announce he is homosexual, in an
interview published Saturday.

Nicholas Chamberlain, the Bishop of Grantham in
central England, told the Guardian newspaper he was in
a long-term relationship with his male partner, after a
Sunday paper reportedly said it was about to publish a
story on his private life.
“It was not my decision to make a big thing about
coming out,” he said, adding that he adhered to church
guidelines which stipulate that gay clergy must be
celibate.
“People know I’m gay, but it’s not the first thing I’d say
to anyone. Sexuality is part of who I am, but it’s my
ministry that I want to focus on.”
The church knew he was gay when he became a bishop
last year, he revealed.
“I was myself. Those making the appointment knew
about my sexual identity.”
Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, leader of the
world’s Anglican faith, said Chamberlain’s sexuality was
“completely irrelevant”.
“His appointment as Bishop of Grantham was made on
the basis of his skills and calling to serve the church in
the diocese of Lincoln,” he said.
“He lives within the bishops’ guidelines and his
sexuality is completely irrelevant to his office.”
Chamberlain said of his relationship: “It is faithful,
loving, we are like-minded, we enjoy each other’s
company and we share each other’s life.”
A Church of England spokesman said it would have
been “unjust” not to appoint him based due to his
sexuality.
The Church of England dropped its opposition to gay
clergymen in civil partnerships becoming bishops in
2013, although many of the Anglican faith worldwide —
who number 80 million — were opposed.
The Anglican Church of Uganda in 2014 said it may
consider breaking away from their mother church in
England if it put Uganda under pressure over its tough
anti-homosexuality law.

World's longest glass bridge closed!

The world’s longest glass bridge, over a scenic canyon in China, has been closed less than two weeks after it opened after being overwhelmed by a swarm of visitors.

More than 10,000 visitors a day flooded over the Guinness record-setting attraction, overwhelming managers who had planned to limit visitors to no more than 8,000, local media reported.

The bridge is undergoing “an internal system upgrade”, the official Xinhua News service quoted officials as saying, but did not specify when it would reopen.

The group in charge of the attraction said that it would use the closure to update “software and hardware” related to managing visitors, Xinhua said Friday.

China’s longest glass bottom
In an announcement on one of its social media accounts, the company apologised for inconveniencing the many travellers who had made reservations to visit.

“You… have cheated consumers,” one angry commenter replied.

“I’m on the train right now. I can’t change my travel plans or get a refund. You have made the world lose hope. I see you are the world’s number one cheat.”

Some 430 metres (1,400 feet) long and suspended 300 metres above the earth, the bridge spans the canyon between two mountain cliffs in Zhangjiajie park in China’s central Hunan province.

The nature reserve is known for its otherworldly natural beauty. Famous for its precipitous cloud-wreathed mountains, it is a UNESCO world heritage site that reportedly inspired the landscapes of James Cameron’s sci-fi blockbuster Avatar.

Following an alarming glass bridge cracking incident at the Yuntai mountain in northern Henan in 2015, authorities in Zhangjiajie were eager to demonstrate the safety of the structure.

They organised a string of media events, including one where people were encouraged to try and smash the bridge’s glass panels with a sledge hammer, and another where they drove a car across it.

Nonetheless, visitors were banned from wearing high heels as they ventured out onto the deck.

Uzbekistan's President Islam Karimov dies

Uzbekistan's President Islam Karimov, who dominated the Central Asia's most populous nation for more than 25 years, has died at the age of 78 after suffering a stroke last week.

Lola Tillyaeva, one of the daughters of Karimov, announced the news on her Instagram account on Friday, posting a blank picture saying "he has left us ... I am choosing my words, and cannot believe this".

The country's government and parliament also confirmed the death on Friday and said the funeral would take place in Karimov's hometown Samarkand on Saturday.

Uzbekistan's state television announced the death with the presenter saying: "Dear compatriots, it is with huge grief in our hearts that we announce to you the death of our dear president."

Karimov's rule

The former Soviet, whose brutal crackdown on dissent was widely criticised by rights groups, has been at the helm of the strategic country bordering Afghanistan from since before it gained independence from Moscow in 1991.

Karimov lacks a clear successor after being re-elected to a fifth term in 2015 with more than 90 percent of the vote. The country has never held an election judged free and fair by international monitors.

Those tipped to rule after Karimov's death include Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Azimov, Kamoliddin Rabbimov, an independent Uzbek political analyst based in France, told the AFP news agency.

"I think in the corridors of power they have already started fighting," Rabbimov said, while predicting the elite will be eager to ensure the transition is "more or less stable".

"On the one hand the political elite is fighting each other and regrouping but on the other, they understand they need to keep control of the country. They have gained massive wealth under Karimov."

Karimov's elder daughter Gulnara, a flamboyant figure formerly seen as a potential successor, was reportedly placed under house arrest in 2014 after she openly criticised officials and family members on Twitter.

Karimova accused her mother and younger sister of sorcery, compared her father with Stalin and attacked the country’s powerful security chief for corruption and harbouring presidential ambitions.

The Uzbek government has been repeatedly criticised for human rights abuses, religious repression and censorship.

Karimov has long been repeatedly criticised for human rights abuses, most notoriously in 2005 in the city of Andijan, where government forces are accused of killing hundreds of demonstrators.

The United Nations describes the use of torture in Uzbekistan as systematic, and Reporters Without Borders said Karimov frequently broke his own records for repression and paranoia.

Former British ambassador to Uzbekistan, Craig Murray, accused Karimov's security forces of executing two dissidents by boiling them to death.

Karimov grew up in an orphanage in the ancient city of Samarkand and went on to study mechanical engineering and economics. He rose up through the Communist Party ranks to head Soviet Uzbekistan in 1989.
